INDIANAPOLIS – Former University of Oregon great Ashton Eaton has been named USA Track & Field’s Athlete of the Week after bettering his own indoor heptathlon world record with an amazing two-day performance that concluded Sunday in Tallinn, Estonia.

 
INDIANAPOLIS – Myasia Jacobs, Marquis Dendy and Trinity Wilson each won their respective events Saturday at the 2011 Germany-Japan-USA Trilateral Friendly Indoor Meet in Osaka, Japan.

BOSTON –Russell Brown and Phoebe Wright aren’t yet household names in U.S. middle-distance circles, but they may well be after Brown won the New Balance men’s mile and Wright took the women’s 800 Saturday night at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix.
 
SAN DIEGO – Olympic Bronze medalist and American record holder Shalane Flanagan (Portland, Ore.) dominated the women’s field to win her fifth USA Cross Country title, while Brent Vaughn (Blackhawk, Colo.) surprised the men’s field to win his first USA title Saturday at the 2011 USA Cross Country Championships.
